Whilst it is commendable and essential that we now wash and sort our re-cyclable rubbish into the appropriate container, ready to put out at the kerbside for local council rubbish collections, it is often a headache finding space to store it in the meantime  without it spoiling the sleek look of your kitchen or utility room.

You can buy bins which are divided into compartments with separate pull-out sections inside for non-recycled rubbish, tins and plastic and compostable food waste. If you are someone who likes to empty all your bins at once then consider buying stackable individual bins for food waste, glass, tins and plastic, though you may want to keep these in a utility room or garage where they are less “on show”. If you are prepared to spend some money to find a bin which really fits into your stylish kitchen, some of the country’s big department stores sell bins which act as “mini recycling centres” in a choice of colours and designs. If space is at a premium in your kitchen, then this type of bin won’t be the answer for you, but for those with bigger kitchens, these stylish re-cycling bins are the perfect choice.
